In plain words
$915.3
What it is. GDP per capita divides the value of everything an economy produces in a year by its population, here in current US dollars. Because it is measured at current prices and exchange rates, it moves with inflation and with the Liberian dollar's value against the US dollar as well as with real output. It is an average, so it says nothing about how income is spread between Monrovia and rural counties, and it leaves out unpaid work such as subsistence farming at home.
Higher is better. A higher figure means more output for each person to draw income, spending and tax revenue from, so higher is better. Liberia's latest figure is $915.3 for 2025, up from $851.5 a year earlier, a rise of 7.5%. That is the highest level since 2016, the start of the window. The low point came in 2020, at $616.8, so the latest figure sits well above the bottom of its range and at the top of it.
Why it matters. At $915.3 a year, average output per person in Liberia remains small in absolute terms, so a rise of $63.8 in one year matters most if it reaches household earnings and not only the national total. For firms, a larger average income per person widens the local market for goods and services. For the state, a growing per-person economy broadens the base on which taxes and customs revenue are collected.
