In plain words
100% of population
What it is. Electricity access is the share of Morocco's population with access to electricity. It counts people who can obtain a supply, so a figure of 100 means everyone is covered. Hours of supply, outages and the price paid for power sit outside the measure.
Higher is better. A higher share is better because each percentage point is a group of people able to use lighting, refrigeration, phone charging and powered equipment at home. The latest figure, for 2024, is 100% of population, level with 2023 at 100% of population, a change of 0 percentage points over the year. Since 2015 the lowest reading was 97.3% of population, in 2015. The series reached its highest level of 100% of population in 2017, so the latest figure sits at the top of its range.
Why it matters. For Moroccan households, access at this level means a connection is available in practice to the whole population, in towns and in the countryside. Firms can site workshops, farms and shops anywhere in the country and expect a supply to be available. For the state, the work moves from extending connections to the quality and cost of the power that reaches people.
