In plain words
100% of population
What it is. Electricity access is the share of a country's people who live in a household with a connection to electricity. It is usually built from household surveys and censuses, with modelling to fill the years in between. It records whether a household is connected. It says nothing about how reliable the supply is, how many hours it runs each day or what it costs.
Higher is better. A higher share is better because a household without a connection depends on candles, kerosene or generators for light, cooking and refrigeration. Seychelles stands at 100% of population in 2024, unchanged from a year earlier at 100% of population. Across the period since 2015 the lowest and highest readings are both 100% of population, so the series has stayed at full coverage throughout.
Why it matters. Every household in Seychelles can in principle switch on lights, run a fridge and charge a phone from the grid, and shops and guesthouses can count on a connection. Because the connection gap is closed, the issues that remain for families and firms are the price of power and how steady the supply is. The state's concern shifts from extending the network to maintaining it and managing generation costs on an island system.
