In plain words

$28.3bn

What it is. Nominal GDP adds up the value of everything produced inside Guinea in a year and expresses it in current US dollars. Output is valued at that year's prices and converted at that year's exchange rate, so the total moves with inflation and with the value of the Guinean franc against the dollar as well as with real activity. It says nothing about how income is shared, and it leaves out unpaid household work and much informal activity.

Higher is better. A larger figure means a bigger economy in dollar terms, which gives the country more income to spend, save and tax, so higher is better here. The latest figure for 2025 is $28.3bn, up from $25bn a year earlier, a rise of 13.3%. That is the highest level since 2016, when the figure was $8.6bn. Guinea's output measured in dollars has therefore more than tripled over the window.

Why it matters. A larger economy in dollars widens the base from which the state can collect taxes and service foreign-currency debt. It also makes imports of fuel, food and equipment easier to finance. For households the gain depends on how far growth reaches wages and jobs outside mining and the capital, which GDP alone cannot show.
