In plain words

$5.2bn

What it is. Nominal GDP adds up the value of everything produced in Liberia over a year, priced at that year's market prices and expressed in US dollars. Because it uses current prices, the total rises when output grows and also when prices rise. It leaves out inflation adjustment, so it cannot separate extra production from higher prices. It also says nothing about how income is shared among households.

Higher is better. A higher figure means a larger pool of income that households can spend, firms can sell into and the state can tax, which is why higher is better here. The latest figure, for 2025, is $5.2bn, up from $4.8bn a year earlier, a rise of $0.47bn or 9.8%. Since 2016 the lowest point was $3.2bn in 2020. The 2025 figure is also the highest in that span, so the economy now sits at the top of its own range.

Why it matters. A larger dollar economy gives the Liberian government a bigger base from which to collect revenue and gives businesses more spending to sell into. The climb from $3.2bn in 2020 to $5.2bn in 2025 shows the economy has recovered well beyond its low. Because the measure is in current dollars, part of the 9.8% rise may reflect higher prices, so household purchasing power may have grown by less. Real GDP growth for the same period would show how much.
